Pre workout tips to get you started – Fitness Friday

Why is a travel blogger posting about fitness? Read this

Ahem, now that that’s out of the way, we can begin the first fitness Friday! I’m going to focus on workout nutrition. I feel like it’s an area most people don’t think about. There’s more to fitness that exercising, you need to eat right too!

1. About 30-60 minutes before you work out, you need to eat a combination of proteins and carbohydrates.

1. Cottage cheese, fruit, and whole grain cereal 2. Whole grain toast, eggs, and fruit 3. Whole grain pasta, turkey, and veggies 4. Smoothies with whey protein

Drinking-Water

2. Drink lots of water! Water is the best choice for hydrating yourself during a workout because it’s free of sugar and other compounds that other drinks have, but it still does its intended job.

3. Find the right shoes! Not all running shoes are made equal. If you’re running on a trail, you need shoes that are different from road running shoes. Even the kind of ankles and arches of your feet make a difference in the types of shoes you should have.
